Making Yourself Easy to Refer, MMA & Holiday Heels

You’re good at what you do. You deliver. You care.

But if your word-of-mouth leads feel random, slow, or like they always show up after your calendar fills, it might be time for a quick referral tune-up.

The truth is, being easier to refer has less to do with your pitch - and more to do with your positioning, process, and people.

Here are 3 ways to make sure you’re top of mind and easy to send clients, customers, and opportunities your way:

For clarity:
📣 Make your positioning crystal clear

Can someone describe what you do in one sentence? Better yet — can they describe what problem you solve? Generic tags like “brand strategist” or “creative studio” won’t cut it. Instead, try:

→ “She helps founders rewrite their website so it actually converts.”
→ “They design packaging for wellness brands that want to stand out on shelves.”
→ “She sells beautiful, refillable cleaning products for people who hate plastic and clutter.”

If you’re specific, people will think of you faster.

For trust:
✅ Build a process that makes people look good for recommending you

Your referral partners are staking their reputation on you — make it easy for them to feel confident. That might mean a great website, fast replies, a simple discovery call link, or a thoughtful intake form. If your systems are smooth, your referrals will flow.

For reach:
🤝 Remind your people that you want referrals (and tell them how to help!)

Most people want to recommend you. They just forget, or they don’t know what kind of lead you’re looking for. Drop a line to your past clients or collaborators:

→ “If you know anyone looking for help with ____, I’d love to support them.”
→ “Here’s a short blurb you can copy/paste if it’s helpful!”
→ “Here’s a peek at what I’m booking this quarter — feel free to pass it on.”

Sometimes, all it takes is one well-timed nudge.

Referrals don’t just come from the loudest marketers. They come from the clearest communicators, the most reliable collaborators, and the people who make it easy to say: “Oh, I know exactly who you should talk to.”

Here’s to being unforgettable in all the right ways.
